Sweeket Scout Privacy Policy

Effective September 18, 2026

Sweeket Scout is an invite-only app where trusted contributors (“scouts”) recommend shops, products, places, and events for the Sweeket catalog. This policy explains what information the app collects, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It covers the Scout app and the Sweeket services behind it.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google (or Apple, where offered), we receive your name and email address. Your email is how we check you are on the Scout invite list.

Your contributions. The links, notes, chat messages, votes, and photos you submit. Photos are stored on our servers. Contributions are the point of Scout: your name is shown next to your finds to other scouts in the app.

Location. Only when you add a photo, and only to work out which place you are recommending. The coordinates come from the photo’s own metadata, or — with your permission — from your device at that moment, or from a place you pick manually. We record which of those it was. The app never tracks your location in the background.

Reports and blocks. If you report a find or block a scout, we keep a record of it — who reported or blocked, what, and when — to moderate Scout and to hide blocked scouts from you.

Push token. If you turn on notifications, we store the device token needed to deliver them.

Logs. Our servers keep ordinary technical logs (timestamps, request paths, IP addresses) to keep the service running and secure.

How we use it

To run Scout: admit invited scouts, show contributions to the crew, judge and publish recommendations into the Sweeket catalog, and send the notifications you asked for.

AI processing. Scout uses large language models to help turn your submissions into structured recommendations. The text you submit — and photos you contribute, which can include embedded location details — are sent to OpenRouter, our AI model provider, for that processing. Photos are fetched by the provider from a non-public URL on our servers. We do not use your content to train models of our own.

We do not sell your information, and the app contains no advertising.

Who we share it with

We use a small set of service providers to operate Scout:

  • OpenRouter — AI processing of submitted text and photos, as described above
  • Google — sign-in, and the Places and Maps services used to identify and display locations you recommend
  • Supabase — account authentication
  • Expo — push notification delivery
  • Google Cloud — hosting and data storage

Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Recommendations that make it into the Sweeket catalog may be shown to Sweeket users, credited without your contact details. We do not share your information with anyone for their own marketing, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. To delete your account, open the side menu in the app and tap Delete account, or email us at michael@sweeket.com and we will do it for you. Deletion removes your account information, photos, and blocks. Recommendations already published into the catalog may be kept in a form no longer linked to you.

Children

Scout is invite-only and not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and note the new effective date above. Questions or requests: michael@sweeket.com.
